When and where is KILF?
KILF 2027 runs for five days, from 31 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, in Kollam, Kerala. Sessions take place at the Sreenarayana Guru Cultural Centre, 8 Point Art Cafe and Ashramam Maidan, all in Kollam city, close to Ashtamudi Lake.
Are sessions in Malayalam or English?
Both. Most sessions will be in Malayalam, with several in English and some bilingual. The language of each session will be listed in the full programme.
Are the speakers and programme final?
Not yet. The line-up shown is proposed and participation is subject to confirmation. The full programme will be unveiled closer to the festival.
What can families and young visitors discover?
A children's strand with storytelling and workshops, a youth stage with poetry slams and open mics, the book fair, art, music by the lake and a food festival in the evenings.
What happens on New Year’s Eve?
The first night, 31 December 2026, opens with a conversation with M. Mukundan and a lamp lit at sunset, then New Year’s Eve by the lake: live music with Shanka Tribe, and the countdown to 2027. The proposed programme has the times.
Can I bring children?
Yes. The festival has a children's strand with storytelling, workshops and first favourite books. Sessions for younger visitors will be marked in the programme.
Will there be food?
Yes. In the evenings the food strand brings Kollam’s kitchens to the water, with music by the lake.
